When I first arrived to the ATE. Program, I remember asking Gaye if she thinks it'd be a bad idea to have children, while trying to be an Athletic Trainer. She responded with, "If you think you can do it, more power to you." I will always treasure that, and know that her "superman" attitude towards things, will always stick with me.
Gaye was truly someone who if she thought she could do it, she did it. I don't know too many older women who loved life and lived it to its fullest like Gaye did. She was truly a hero to me, and I want to be like her someday. Thank you Gaye Merrill for teaching me to be a better Athletic Trainer, friend, and person by simple example.
I will miss you.
